Post-trial haul

LUSH Angels on Bare Skin cleanser, Daddy-O shampoo, American Dream conditioner, MISS SHOP nail polish, AMERICAN APPAREL leather medium coin purse

I don't think I've ever really done like a 'haul' post, but I probably should from now on? I'm actually waiting for a pair of UO sandals and my Dolly Wink liquid eyeliner to come in, which should be soon, and I bought a pair of loafers the other day too.. Anyway, trials finished yesterday! Chemistry lucky last, ha, it used to be my favourite subject until I screwed up in the 3rd assessment task, lost my top 10 rank and now I've kind of just lost hope for it. These trials were actually the worst round of assessments I'd done for the whole year. If you were to go through each of my subjects and ask me if I was prepared for the exam in the morning of the actual exam, then my answer would be no. For every single bloody subject. Literally winged English both paper 1 and 2, and senior science. Left all my studying for the night before, argh. But anyway, all this depressing trial-talk aside, since exams were done, I went out right after to Nick's place and went shopping.

The plan for yesterday was: lunch, Lush, salt caramel macarons, Moochi, Myer/American Apparel, so we went to Sushi Hotaru for lunch first. I'm pretty sure Sushi Hotaru is the best sushi train I've been to (but that's because I've only really been to, like, 4) in terms of taste and price. Pretty sure me and Nick have figured that our favourites are the seared scallop and salmon ones, soooo good. After that, we found Lush in QVB, where I probably spent too long looking and smelling everything, being indecisive then finally actually deciding to buy the a shampoo, conditioner and cleanser. I usually wouldn't even spend that much on cosmetics so hopefully these products actually work out for me. I've tried (and fallen for) the Angels of Bare Skin cleanser though, it immediately made my skin smoother after just one use! Very glad I decided to buy it almost last minute. I haven't tried the hair products yet, but they smell really good and I'm *hoping* my hair will be softer, shinier and more hydrated soon. :(

We then went to Myer so I could finally buy my long-awaited American Apparel leather coin purse, since I'd finally decided that I should buy it despite the price (I'm comforting myself with the fact that it's made from real and very supple leather and I LOVE the gold zipper), and Nick said he wanted to buy a new cardigan. When he actually found one that he liked and we were in the line to way, I started having second thoughts about my coin purse cos I wasn't sure if I'd get sick of a black coin purse too quickly, so we were going to leave the store (we'd gone two escalators down already) when I changed my mind LOL so we went back up and bought it, and I spontaneously decided on this peachy and very-close-to-neon-but-not orange nail polish. It was either the orange, a neon yellow or a nice minty green-blue, but I don't have anything like this orange. Sounds gross, but it reminds me of the orange-cheese you'd find in McDonalds burgers, specifically the fillet-o-fish for some reason.. LOL. We were in a rush, so we quickly got some green tea and watermelon Moochi, then went to Coco Noir and bought a salt caramel and passionfruit macaron, right before leaving for the train home. AND WHEN I GOT HOME I COULDN'T BLOODY OPEN THE NAIL POLISH. It was screwed on so freakin' tightly, I had to submerge it in hot water while silently praying the glass wouldn't crack under the high temperature and cut my fingers and get nail polish in the cuts.. LOL. If anyone wanted to know, then it dries matte and one layer was more opaque than I thought it'd be.

Anyway, to all those still doing their trials: good luck! Give the exams everything you've got, so that you can walk out knowing you did everything you could, and at least you pushed yourself to your hardest. Gay, but I'm disappointed with how I went so I'm just hoping I won't be this underprepared for the HSC.

Mini haul

Before the holidays ended, I was planning on posting all the stuff I'd bought into a haul post, cos they always looked fun to do. I don't really remember why I never did it, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was because I always woke up so late in the holidays and felt that I had to study or do something productive since I'd wasted so much of the day. :(

Anyway, judging from what I buy, I think I can safely conclude that around 90% of the things I buy are on sale. I've been spending so much recently, but overall I've actually saved around the same (if not, more) then what I've paid for. Pictured above: Don't Ask Amanda jumper, Mink Pink x Nasty Gal sequin hot pants (I actually don't even know when I would ever wear these.. ever. But the colours are so cute and considering how short they are, they're actually really warm), Insight culottes, Urge brown leather sandals and Rubi creepers (for only $5, but I accidentally broke them while I was at tutor. WHILE I WAS SITTING DOWN. I don't even know how lol). And not pictured above: the 5 colour Happy Socks, perfect black bowler bag (from the Iconic, forgot what brand) and new underwear. And everything I bought had been reduced, or full price but I had a code. Or both. LOL yay :D

Even though it's winter, it's been pretty sunny recently even though the air is still chilly and it's freezing indoors. I think my mind is just in spring/summer mode, I hate how cold it is in the mornings and at night. School started again this week, and my friends have been so kind to remind me that there are only around 40-something school days left. As much as I'm excited about post-HSC and uni, it'll kinda suck to leave high school. I'd have to pay for train tickets to go to uni everyday, and I'd have to write a resume and get a job and shit. And I'm also really lazy to even browse for dresses or think about what I'm going to wear at formal this year, urggggh.

Monster

American Apparel Gg shirt, Rubi boots, printed birthday socks from my brother

Bought these shoes just yesterday and I am (very close to) in looooove. I've wanted boots like this for ages now, black, with the block heel, oddly velvet like but not really velvet and with a good platform. I don't know why, but I could imagine myself walking through snowy roads, wearing these boots. Even though we don't even get snow in Australia. :( Anyway, these shoes that I actually bought don't really have that high a platform, which makes it look proportionally weird to me.. or maybe that's just me. But really, these should be okay, because every time I wear heels with huge platforms, I always feel like a stick with overly long, skinny legs. So I guess these are okay, I actually really can't wait to wear them out. :D And these socks, omg. I LOVE THEM. Especially the nude ones with aztec print. My brother bought them for me for my birthday, which is probably the safest and easiest present someone could've bought me. There are a few pairs on Topshop that I really want.. they're all so cute, I can't wait for Topshop to open in Sydney!!

Truth: Me + shopping = laziness + no money + contemplating whether or not to actually buy an item

Every time I have to get changed to go out, I always throw together a combination of mine, my brother and my sister's clothes because I'm sick of all my clothes, while making a mental note to myself to go shopping. Then when I actually browse online, I scroll through pages and pages and don't find anything I really really like. Then the next time I go out, I get annoyed and wish I had actually bought the item. I probably don't make any sense anymore, but the TL;DR here is that I need to go shopping. :(

Come closer

Things I'm in love with right now: minty shades of green-blue, teamed with fluorescent yellow and gold jewellery, and wearing scrunched socks and boots. Can something be bright and pastel at the same time? I don't know how this came about but right now, I'm obsessed with wearing pastels/nudes and brights, with flashes of gold here and there. Don't know if this is just a phase I'm going through (that will probably come back to embarrass me) or..

Stuff I bought/got during exams: new NYX blushes off Cherry Culture, Sportsgirl crocodile clutch (that I saw Willabelle from Pale Division wear, ahh), Sportsgirl Nail It! nail polish in Iceberg, cookies and cream flavoured Panda Pocky, 5 new pairs of socks (for $3! Socks that were already insanely cheap + $2 extra change from the sales assistant, hehe), and new embroidery floss and other bits and bobs for making friendship bracelets. Annddddd, I *FINALLY* got my conch pierced! (Picture here) I'm pretty sure I've annoyed everyone I know about it, but I still can't believe it. After whining to my parents after every exam period, Christmas and birthday and being the goody two shoes I am, I finally got the okay from my parents (i.e. annoyed them to the extent of letting me) and got it done. YAYYYY ^___^ Happy Easter everyone!

Flatforms

Hah, you can see a whole strip of dust in the first two photos.. which is actually pretty gross. Was also too lazy to take proper photos of myself in them, so I just took one while I was sitting in my swivel chair.

Instead of going to the library to study before youth group on Friday, I decided to catch up with a friend I haven't talked to in a while and to go shopping for new underwear hehe and socks and whatever else I felt like, since it felt like ages since I bought anything really for myself. (Okay, that's probably a lie cos I buy heaps of food to replenish my stash of junk food for when I'm feeling sad, but I mean things that will last more than a week..) Bought underwear from Myer and was lucky enough to find these flatforms on sale, yay! Love how they instantly give me like 8cm of height.. except I'd probably end up rolling my ankle wearing these around the house before I find somewhere to wear these out to. :(

Studs and layers

Sportsgirl watch and Nail It!, Vivian's bracelets and cute watch (photo taken by Danica I think?) and outfit for the day

Today Nick and I went to go get his seconds (lobe piercing) done and passport photos taken. Going into Industrie8 made me feel like such a piercing virgin, since I have a whole list of piercings that I want but don't have the balls to get anything knowing my parents would seriously rage and be so disappointed if they found out. :( But while we were in Cabra, we bought a shitload of food but didn't actually eat that much of it since I surprised him with dumplings and tea for breakfast when he came over to pick me up. :D Then we went to Livo, I bought a watch (which I am seriously in love with and makes me want to start a whole collection of watches), new glitter polish (the exact same as the one I already have, since it's starting to get gluggy), new underwear (which yes, I am also seriously in love with cos it looks like this swimsuit bottom by American Apparel that I have been drooling over, LOL) and more food (cos I knew that I would be annoyed if I didn't buy food while I was there, and yes I was right - I've already started on my chocolate horn from Breadtop, hehe).

Oops, forgot to mention that a couple of days ago, one of my friends, Vivian, hosted an Amazing Race at her house! So convenient that she lives across the road from a park/field, and literally 200m from a 7-11.. Such a fun day, and my team won, wooo! Go me and Liza. :D

Oh, and I compiled a whole list of shit in my wardrobe that I haven't touched in ages and need to get rid of. So if I ever get organised enough, I'll be clearing out a lot of my stuff (including my shorts here/here, lace bustier here, tops here) and maybe some handmade goods, too! :D

Follow the lights to the city

Lace bustier, Olay moisturising lotion, Sportsgirl ear cuff and Nail It! in Rolling Stone, Milkshake and Concrete Jungle

Went to Parramatta after chemistry yesterday, talked to friendly sales assistants, tried the new double choc McFlurry, fell in love with this lace bustier and bought a new ear cuff to replace my old one. Informal is in less than a week and I haven't even figured out how I'm getting there.

Recent additions

Clockwise: new suede lace up wedges from Rubi shoes, suede and fake crocodile bag with detachable longer strap from Sportsgirl, black suede chelsea boots from Rubi shoes, black ribbed skirt from Supre, embroidery floss and fake roses from Spotlight

Was supposed to hardcore study today so I plan to after this blog post. Decided to blog after receiving a lovely comment asking if I could blog about my recent buys and stuff like that -- since it's a rare occurrence for me to get a comment at all, consider this a celebratory post. Or something.

Since before I left for PE camp, all the clothing/shoes I've bought recently is either black or suede (or both). When I bought this bag from Sportsgirl, I was pretty psyched cos I saw it ages ago and now it was finally on sale at less than half price.. But to be honest, it was a let down. The long strap is way too long and since they're only attached by buttons, the strap falls off if I have anything too heavy in it, meaning I can't bring my camera. Would've been a cute bag if the long strap wasn't so dodgy. :( On the other hand, I am loving these shoes from Rubi! Wore the wedges to Jenny's party, and have been able to pair these chelsea boots with most of my wardrobe. They're so versatile and so easy to put on (no laces = win), such a good steal for half price at Rubi. The black skirt I bought from Supre was more of an impulse buy, but it was only $5 and after Jenny's party, I've come to realise that I don't wear skirts or dresses enough. Not like I'm going to start wearing dresses to every party from now on (and to be honest, it felt so weird to be wearing something so flowy and girly at Jenny's, lol) but this skirt is a start.. And easily makes my legs look longer. Finally went to the new Spotlight with my sister and picked up some embroidery floss and fake roses. And yes, the fake roses were an impulse buy as well, but I'll promise myself I'll actually make a crown (inspired by Vanessa from Animalist and Connie from K is for Kani) this time, instead of buying fake flowers and not doing anything with them. Saw Vivian buying embroidery floss too, hehe, pretty sure we were both dead set wanting to make some friendship bracelets after finding this post on Honestly WTF.

And guess what bitches, my HTC Desire HD finally arrived in the mail, yay! Loving the huge screen and have spent 5 hours after opening it updating contacts, linking my social networking accounts and syncing files from my computer onto this beauty. Yes I haven't been this excited in a while! :D

Busy

Playing around and taking photos with a DSLR through the lense of my Konica Pop, since I'd probably waste all the film we have at home taking either completely overunder-exposed photos of absolutely nothing. Yesterday I bought a pair of Miss Brown blue acid wash elastic waist shorts ($25), a set of 16 watercolour pencils ($5) and four bouquets of miniature ribbon roses with wire stems ($3). Saw so many nice pairs of boots that I wanted but didn't buy. Haven't done any homework this weekend and my sister's having friends over plus Nick for a takoyaki and gyoza day today. It's such a beautiful day, hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Rushed

Hi readers! I haven't been posting regularly these holidays and especially now, since school's resuming in a matter of days and everyone's rushing to organise outings to make the most out of our holidays before year 11. I changed around the fonts on my blog earlier today too, since 12 point Arial was killing me. Anyway, these are just a couple of photos from this week!

On Thursday, I went to the uniform shop and finally bought my senior uniform, then took the train to Padstow and went to Sydney Olympic Aquatic Centre with Nick! It was so fun, I haven't been there in so long and it's changed so much, there's this water playground now! So many kids on it, it was so so fun. :) I love the smell of pools. After that, we went to Drummoyne and had lobster mornay and battered fish, served with chips and salad. :)

Yesterday, I had to visit my orthodontist so they could remake a new retainer for me, I only had it for a week! :( But after that, spontaneously decided to take a train and head to the city to buy a Kikki.K diary. :) I wanted to get the 365 journal, and ended up taking forever to decide which one, but Nick wouldn't let me get any other one besides the 2011 one and bought it for me. :) He got himself a pencil case and a pen too, haha, what a cutie. We had lunch at Ichiban Boshi (outside Kinokuniya) and I didn't have my camera to take photos of my yakisoba, or Nick's ramen. :( Left the city early, since I had offered to do some volunteer work at Cabramatta for the Chinese New Year festival (29-30/01), which finished at 6.30pm.

And finally today, Vanessa and Christie visited me while I was doing volunteer work at the Salvation Army! Christie got some $3 Sass & Bide shorts (which I told her about, hmph!) and I bought two teaspoons that I thought were super cute. I wanted to get 4, but I actually didn't have enough money on me, how embarrassing .. And I dropped two 20 cent coins on the floor which actually rolled away out of reach. Damn I'm poor. Happy Saturday!
